FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
At Kenosha Modest Cremation, we know that choosing a cremation service can raise many questions. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions families ask us. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out directly. We’re here to help.
Direct cremation is a simple and cost-effective option where the cremation takes place without a traditional funeral service or viewing beforehand. We handle all the necessary arrangements, and after the cremation, the cremated remains are returned to the family. This allows you to plan a memorial service on your own schedule, if you choose.
Once you contact us, we will arrange a time to meet at your home or another convenient location to complete the necessary paperwork. We will then handle the transportation of your loved one, obtain the required permits, and oversee the cremation process. In Wisconsin, by law, every death must go to the coroner’s office for inspection to obtain a cremation permit. Once the cremation is completed, we will ship the cremated remains via first-class mail with tracking at no additional cost and deliver the death certificates directly to you, ensuring your loved one’s remains are returned with the utmost care.
Our package price is $1,980 and includes:
- Transfer of your loved one into our care
- Refrigerated storage
- County cremation permit
- Flame cremation
- One death certificate
- Professional staff services
For after-hours home and nursing home deaths in Kenosha and Racine counties, there is an additional $150 transportation fee since these coroner offices are not open 24 hours. This covers the extra transportation to our crematory at night and back to the coroner’s office the next day, then returning to our crematory after their investigation. These fees will be confirmed during the arrangement process.
The cremation typically takes place within a few days of completing the necessary paperwork and obtaining the cremation permit. We work as quickly as possible while ensuring that all legal requirements are met.
Yes, many families choose to hold a memorial service after the cremation. Since direct cremation doesn’t involve a traditional funeral service beforehand, it gives families the flexibility to plan a memorial or celebration of life at a time and place that suits them.
Once the cremation is complete, we will ship your loved one’s ashes via first-class mail with tracking at no additional cost, ensuring they are returned with the utmost care and respect. Death certificates will be delivered directly to you.
Yes, we offer pre-planning services for those who wish to make arrangements in advance. Pre-planning allows you to make decisions ahead of time, reducing stress on your loved ones and ensuring your wishes are carried out.
By using a funeral service provider like us instead of a traditional funeral home, families save significantly on overhead costs while receiving the same professional care. As a mom-and-pop cremation company, we don’t outsource any part of our services. We handle everything ourselves, which allows us to pass those savings directly to you.
